Medical camps organizes in Gurez valley


Srinagar, September 16, (Scoop News)- A Medical cum Veterinary Camp was organised on 16 Sep 2017 at Chakwali in Tulail Sub Division. The populace was educated on health related issues and oral hygiene via lectures, posters and photographs. Total of 209 villagers including 36 children and 61 animals were treated in camp. The camp was attended by a team of two Medical Officers, one Dental Officer and three Nursing Assistants.

Another Medical Camp was organised on 15 Sep 2017 in village Kanzalwan in the Gurez Sector. Kanzalwan village is located in an inhospitable location 20 KM away from the nearest Sub District Hospital in Dawar. The medical camp focused on the elderly, women and children. Approximately 150 locals from Kanzalwan & Niyalgaon villages attended the medical camp. A team of doctors from the Army and specialists from Civil Sub District Hospital, Dawar attended to the locals with quality medical care and advice. The locals were also taught the basics of providing first aid and preventive measures for the common diseases in the area. Medicines were distributed free of cost.

The Medical Camps brought huge relief to the locals who appealed to the Army to organize such Medical Camps regularly and were thankful for this noble initiative by the Army.
