Ayurvedic Congress felicitates Bali Bhagat for getting Ayurvedic College for Jammu

Jammu, September 17, (Scoop News)- The All Jammu and Kashmir Ayurvedic Congress (AJKAC) has felicitated the Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat for his personal efforts to get the Government Ayurvedic College sanctioned at Jammu.
A delegation of AJKAC comprising, Dr Balwant Rai Sharma, President and Dr Dalip Singh Sambyal, General Secretary today met the Minster at his residence and conveyed their gratitude for his relentless efforts to get this much needed institution sanctioned for Jammu by the Central Government. They expressed happiness over this unprecedented development and maintained that the move will go a long way in promoting the AYUSH sector in the State which has flourished tremendously during the pat over 2-3 decades.
The delegation also presented a memorandum to the Minister suggesting upgradation of AYUSH sector in every nook and corner of the State at par with Allopathic sector. They suggested bi-furcating the Directorate of Indian System of Medicine with two directorates and creation of more posts of AYUSH doctors, para-medics, regularization of adhoc dispensaries, opening of new dispensaries in each district with provision of two posts of B-Grade Specialists.
The Minister acknowledged the gesture of the Members of the AJKAC and urged the veteran doctors to contribute for the betterment of the department. He sought more ideas to promote the AYUSH sector in the State and assured appropriate action on the memorandum submitted by them.
Describing the decision of the Central Government for sanctioning Ayurvedic College as historic, the Minister said that it was a long pending demand of the Jammu region which has been fulfilled with the concerted efforts of the State Government. He said the AYUSH sector has become popular for the past over two-three decades in the country as well in Jammu and Kashmir as large numbers of patients are showing keen interest in this traditional medicare system. He said the Government will continue to make efforts to strengthen this sector to meet the requirements.
