Congress activists hold protests outside CAPD office
blame govt for its failure to provide ration to people at designated depots



Jammu, September 19, (Scoop News)-The District Congress Committee (Urban) Jammu under the leadership of its president Anil Chopra held a protest demonstration in front of CAPD Office Jammu, today against the failure of Government to provide ration to people.

Hundreds of congress workers carrying play cards in their hands assembled at Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. Amidst chanting slogans against Centre and State Governments for their utter failure to provide ration and other basic amenities of life. Raman Bhalla (former Minister) vice president JKPCC led the protest.

Speaking on the occasion Bhalla said that people are facing great hardships due to shortage of ration at Govt. Ration Depots, besides the provision of subsidized sugar has already been ceased and only atta/rice on nominal quantity on higher rates is available. He said that the Govt. had already increased the rate of flour (atta), rise and sugar and despite of increasing the rates, why the ration is not available in sufficient quantity?

He said it looks strange when Govt. announces release of ration quota on some occasions like Dasera, Diwali, Eid or Moharam. Whereas in routine poor and middle class people who are totally depend upon Govt. ration depots have been left on the mercy of God.

Bhalla criticized Govt. for the deplorable condition of roads, link roads, lanes and drains besides Govt. hospitals and Super Specialty Hospital where there are no medicines for patients. The electricity and water supply remains disruptive for days together and people are facing great hardships for want of basic amenities of life.

Anuil Chopra said that the State coalition government has failed to provide the basic amenities of life such as ration, drinking water and electric power to the people and to divert the attention of the people from these basic issues, this Govt. spread false propaganda against the opposition.

Prominent among those who participated in the protest demonstration included S/Shri B. B. Gupta, P.S. Chouhan, Dr. Ramakant Khajuria, Naresh Maini, Smt. Chanchal Popli, Gourav Chopra J. L. Kaul, , S. Parveen Singh, Pawan Sharma, Smt. Chanchal Popli, J, and others.
