2 Jawans and 2 terrorists killed in Bandipora’s Hajin encounter
Srinagar, October 11, (Scoop News)-Two security personal and two terrorists were killed in an encounter that broke out at the Hajin area of Bandipore in the North Kashmir on Wednesday.



Reports said that three security personnel were also injured in the encounter.


According to reports that A fierce gun-battle started between security forces and militants at the Hajin area of Bandipora in the north Kashmir.

Reports said that at least two to three militants were believed to be holed up at the spot.
The operation is still underway.



Police in a statement issued to Press this evening said that acting on a specific information, Bandipora police along with Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in village Pribal Salamabad in the jurisdiction of Police Station Hajin, Bandipora during the intervening night of 10/11 October 2017. During search operation suspicious movement of militants having arms ammunition was noticed by the joint party in a street who were asked to stop and surrender but they opened fire and lobbed a grenade, in which one Garuda Commando namely Corporal Nalesh Kumar (Air Force) achieved martyrdom on the spot while another Garuda Commando namely Surjeet Miulind Khairum (Air Force) got seriously injured, who later on succumbed to his injuries.
The fire was retaliated in which two terrorists identified as Nasrullah Mir @ Anna son of Nazir Ahmad Mir resident of Mir Mohalla Hajin and Foreign militant namely Ali Bai @Maaz @Abu Bakker got killed. 02 AK riles, 01 pistol, 19 pistol rounds, 01 grenade, 02 pouches and other ammunition was recovered from the encounter site.
Both the slain terrorists were involved in many attacks including case FIR number 56/2017 under section 452, 307, 302, 7/27 A. Act RPC, attack on BSF Jawan namely Mohammad Ramzan @rameez at his home, with knives and then fired indiscriminately, in which the said Jawan was martyred and injuries to his old aged father Ghulam Ahmad Parray, two elder brothers Mohammad Afzal Parray, Javid Ahmad Parray and paternal aunt Habla Begum wife of late Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah. They were also involved in case FIR number 42/17 under section 307 RPC, 7/27 A. Act firing on patrolling party in which one army captain and two army jawans were injured,
Pertinent to mention here that Nasrullah Mir was also involved in stone pelting case FIR numbers 38/2014, 44/2014 and 52/2014 of Police Station Hajin.



Meanwhile Defence spokesman said that Army today paid befitting tributes to two of its Indian Air Force comrades who attained martyrdom during Counter Terrorist operations in Bandipora on 11 Oct 2017. Both the Air Force personnel were GARUD Commandos who were operating with the Army for operational experience and training.

Martyr Sgt K. Milind Kishor, 33 years of age, had joined the IAF in 2002 and hailed from Sakri town in Nashik, Maharashtra. Coming from Village Udhadih of Bhagalpur district in Bihar, the martyr Cpl Nilesh Kumar Nayan was 31 years in age and had donned the uniform in 2005.
The mortal remains of the martyrs were flown for last rites to their native places, where they would be laid to rest with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved families of the martyrs and remains committed to their dignity and well being.
