Kissan leader Ghulam Rasool Sheikh is no more

Srinagar, October 11, (Scoop News)- In sudden and tragic death of Ghulam Rasool Begami, I have lost a colleague, who can never be forgotten. I am deeply saddened by the loss and he will be truly missed by the poor sections of the society for whom he had dedicated his whole life. A social worker and a committed Kissan leader, Sheikh sahib was born in a poor peasant family of Begam and was a household name in whole Kulgam for his selfless services to the society.
I can’t but salute his contributions as he always worked as full time activist for down trodden and neglected sections of the society. He was always more focused on the good of people, especially poor, than on his own benefit. His contributions to the society cannot soon be forgotten. He was a dedicated worker, and never sought praise or attention.

He did a signature campaign for debt relief to the farmers and always participated in the events meant for the welfare of kissans. Just a few days before his tragic death, he attended All India Kissan Conference in Hissar, Haryana from October 3-6. Sheikh sahib was a leader of J&K Kissan Threek. He died in a tragic road accident in Kulgam on Monday evening.
