DFCO intensifies market checking in Jammu, destroys adulterated food
Jammu, October 12, (Scoop News)- Drugs and Food Control Organization, Jammu & Kashmir today conducted a special drive to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food articles to the consumers on the eve of ensuing Diwali festival.
During the inspection, 37 samples of Khoya, Ladoo, Mathi, Burfi, Gulab Jamun, Patisa, Peetha, Milk Cake, Rusgulla, Refined Palmolive etc were lifted and five (05) liters of Lassi was found in insanitary condition. Moreover 20 Kgs of Spring Roll/Pakoda, 10 kgs of rotten Tomato, 270 kgs of milk, 184 kgs of sweets and 10 kgs of Khoya were destroyed on the spot.
The inspection was carried out in the different markets of Municipal Limits Jammu, District Kathua, District Samba and District Doda.
A challan has also been recommended against M/S India Fast Food, Bus Stand Jammu for running his business in insanitary condition.
Drugs and Food Control Organization authority directed all food sellers to maintain high standards of sanitary and hygienic conditions of their establishments so as to guarantee safe and wholesome food to the general public.
