| CEC inspects on-going black topping sites in Leh | | 
Leh, October 16, (Scoop News)-The Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Dr. Sonam Dawa Lonpo along with a team of engineers headed by S.E PDW Leh Tashi Chombel today visited various sites of Shenam-nallah, taxi-stand, maney-khang, Skampari, lower Maney-tselding, and Housing colony areas where the final phase of black topping is being carried out.
It is pertinent to mention here that SE PWD Chombel had given directions for culmination of black topping altogether by 15th of October however due to favourable weather condition, black topping at few areas were undertaken to be completed in a span of two-day time period.
At the black topping sites along the Shenam-nallah, Maney-khang, and Housing Colony CEC Dr Dawa expressed satisfaction over the work being carried out and gave directions to the concerned engineers to carry out required minor steps after the on-spot observation.
However, at the incident of breaking up of a portion of a black topping on the Skalzangling-petrol pump road, CEC told ASP Stanzin Losal to lodge an FIR and gave directions to take strict action against the defaulter for digging the metalled road without seeking proper permission from the concerned department. It is to mention here that CEC had given strict directions earlier to all concerned to complete all earth digging work before black topping so that once the road is metalled no any road will be allowed to dug again that results in ruining the leveled surface. He then gave directions to work out a proposal for cleaning-up of debris along the footpath along this road.
At Shenam nallah road, CEC gave directions to lay the gravels more uniformly for proper black topping. At taxi-stand parking area, CEC gave directions to liaison officer WAPCOS to work in coordination with the Administrator NAC, PWD, and Construction Division for marking of areas for panel location to lay wires for electricity connection. Talking about the over the head electricity wires in the main market, WAPCOS representative updated CEC of approximate removal of wires by the end of December month.
At Skampari, lower Maney-tselding along the Maney-ringmo maney wall, and Housing colony government quarters, CEC after brief discussions gave on the spot directions to the concerned engineers about various issues pertaining to the areas respectively.
