APHC denounces alleged blocking of Mirwaiz to address Friday congregation at Charar e Sharief




Srinagar, October 20, (Scoop News)-APHC spokesman took a dig at the government for once again disallowing the congregational prayers on Friday and turning entire downtown into a fortress.

The spokesman said that confining the entire downtown population to their homes and placing entire resistance leadership under house detention and lodging many others in police lock ups as the ill mind set and short sightedness of the ruling class.

The spokesman said that Mirwaiz was scheduled to address a Friday gathering at Charar-e-Sharief and pay obeisance at the revered shrine of Hazrat Sheikhul Alam but authorities placed him under house detention in the wee hours.

The spokesman said that confining Mirwaiz to his home every now and then clearly reflects the political vendetta of the government against him.

The spokesman also castigated the government for acting as mute spectators over the frequent attacks on the women folk and cutting their braids. He said government has failed to curb braid cutting while on the other hand resistance leaders who raise voice against the brutal assault on women are caged in homes.

He said not a single person has been nabbed by the police which within no time comes into action to foil peaceful protests and to arrest youth during search operations and other so called intelligence based operations. The government has failed on all front as its sole aim is to enjoy power.

Meanwhile, dozens of people staged a protest for not allowing Mirwaiz to address Friday gathering at Charar-e- Sharief.

On the call of Joint Resistance Leadership, scores of Hurriyat activists and a large number of people staged protest against braid chopping at Jinab Sahab Soura....
