| DGP Prisons celebrates Diwali with jail inmates | | Jammu, October 20, (Scoop News)- In an unprecedented gesture, DGP Prisons department S.K Mishra, along with his family, shared the Diwali festivities with the inmates here at the District Jail (Ambphalla).
The DGP joined 500 inmates and witnessed a scintillating cultural program presented by them. The DGP Prisons also gave away Medals and Certificates to the participants -as a token of appreciation, as also distributed sweets amongst the inmates and jail staff.
In his address, he stressed that as being part of the Prison family he will take all possible steps required for the reformation & rehabilitation of the inmates. He wished a very happy Diwali to all.
Earlier, Jail Superintendent Javid Masood Fazili welcomed the DGP. Other guests present on the occasion were Principal, ICS, S.A. Mirza, other jail officers, officers from CRPF and Jawans of the Department.
A Bara Khana was arranged for the jail inmates on the direction of the DGP Prisons.
