Governor lauds the initiatives taken by Chinar Corps to promote tourism

Srinagar, October 22, (Scoop News)-The water bodies of Kashmir offer breathtaking Shikara boat rides. The joy of smoothly gliding over the water with the crisp sound of paddle is indeed a feeling to be imbibed. To encourage the youth of Srinagar, a rolling trophy for Chinar Shikara Cup has been instituted from this year.

Lt Gen JS Sandhu, Chinar Corps Commander flagged off the 5 Km Shikara Race during Srinagar Youth Mela which started from Lalit Jetti, had a turning point at historic Char Chinar and finished at SKICC Jetty. 70 Shikaras took part in the thrilling competition. Shri N N Vohra, Governor (J&K) gave away the prizes. Mr. Mohd Shafeeq Bugel and Mr.Adil Bashir Dar got the first prize of Rs. 50,000 along with the rolling trophy and the second prize was won by Mr. Yasir Ahmed Bhat and Mr. Moisar Ahmed Bhat. The Governor lauded the initiatives taken by the Chinar Corps to promote tourism and youth friendly ventures.
