| Slathia bats for adequate opportunities to youth in decision making | |
Vijaypur, October 22, (Scoop News)- Former minister and Sr State Vice President National Conference Mr Surjeet Singh Slathia on Sunday called for channelizing energies of youth towards positive pursuits, saying adequate opportunities were needed to be provided to them in decision making.
“National Conference has all along provided a huge platform to participate in the decision making by getting politically empowered”, he said while welcoming over 60 young activists in the party fold. The youth mostly belonged to District Kathua who joined National Conference at a function held here.
Mr Slathia hoped that joining of the public spirited and dedicated activists will further strengthen National Conference bastion and help in reaching out to the vast mast of people for mitigating their difficulties.
“National Conference is natural choice for all those believing in secular ethos of Jammu and Kashmir and its inclusiveness”, he said and exhorted the new entrants to be a part of socio-economic transformation of all the regions and their sub-regions. He hoped that the cadre will perform their designated role in bringing about harmony in the state.
Mr Slathia said that Jammu and Kashmir was passing through a most difficult phase and the youth had to shoulder the responsibilities of steering it out of the morass created by the PDP-BJP dispensation. He said the people were looking towards National Conference with hope and therefore it is incumbent upon the cadre to meet their aspirations and expectations.
Reposing their faith in the policies and programmes of National Conference, the new entrants said that dynamic leadership of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Mr Omar Abdullah was the only answer to the woes of people, who have been suffering under the insensitive PDP-BJP dispensation.
