Secretary J&K State Sports Council releases PCJ’s Support the Sport document
Parra welcomes suggestions, bats for sports activities in J&K

Jammu, November 18, (Scoop News)-Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council, secretary, Mr Wahid Rehman Parra today released Press Club of Jammu’s (PCJ) document on sports as ‘Support for Sports’. It is for of its kind document on sports ever, an initiative by Mr Vishal Bharti, a senior journalist and Chairman of Sport Committee of PCJ.
Giving it the tag line of a roadmap for ideal sports in J&K, the document ‘Support for Sports’ is comprising of important points in which some changes or addition can be done for the betterment of Sports in J&K. Dress Code, Medical Health Center, Rewards, Workshop or Seminars, Sports Library, Sports Museum, Exhibition, Cafeteria, Sport Goods Shop, Suggestion-cum-Complaint Box, ATMs, Sports Academy, Sports Calendar, Corporate Plans, National and International Exhibition Matches, Activities, Ground and Pension Scheme are the points raised and elaborated in the document.
The young and energetic Secretary of State Sport Council, Mr Wahid Parra said liked agreed with the initiative taken by Mr Vishal, who is also connected with sports since last 18 years as a sports reporter in Jammu. Mr Parra said that that sports council is short of finances and resources, but these are the valid and genuine points which can be taken into the consideration and will be implement as soon as possible.
“We will see that the points in the documents will be adjust in the upcoming sports policy,” added Parra.
He welcomed the suggestions and said that all these points are not only valid, but also in the interest of sports persons and it will boost the players to move ahead with double energy.
To counter the deadliest menace of Terrorism and Drugs, Parra said that there is dire need to spread more and more sports activities in the Kashmir. Sports played a major role to counter terrorism in the state and to curb the menace of drug addiction.
On pension policy of coaches and sports council employees, the secretary said that they have already initiated it and may get fruitful results soon.
Meanwhile, Shiv Kumar Sharma , joint secretary of J&K Sports Council said that this is a good initiative by PCJ and this documents has given a vast idea to the council even how to move forward. He also mentioned that this is the job of council, which PCJ and Mr Vishal Bharti has done.
Talking on the sports document, Mr Ashwani Kumar, president, Press Club of Jammu said and elaborated how the idea of document on sports came to the sports committee and a wonderful step has been taken for the betterment of the sports. Ashwani said that he is very hopeful that a young secretary like Parra and even Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti will also take it seriously and implement the point on ground.
PCJ Secretary General, Mr Zorawar Singh Jamwal has given the vote of thanks and said that the conditions of sports as well as grounds is going from bad to the worst and this document can give an idea to the government and sports council how to improve the sports activities and boost the morale of young players.
Earlier, Mr Vishal also elaborated his points and shared his experiences with the sports and how he got an idea to write such document.
Vice-President, PCJ Mr Abhimanyu Sharma and Finance Secretary, Mr Dinesh Manhotra were also present on the dice, while Management Committee Members, Mr Ajay Bachloo, Mr Dinesh Mahajan, Mr Nishikant Khajuria, Mr Pawan Sharma, Mr Surjeet Singh and Mr Deepak Khajuria were also present.
