Dental association meets chief minister | | Jammu, November 20, (Scoop News)- A delegation of Indian Dental Association (IDA), Jammu branch led by its president Dr.Rajiv Mengi met Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti. Besides, Dr.Bhupinder Singh, Dr.Munish Gupta and Dr.Aayush Sharma who are the newly elected members of J&K State Dental Council, the delegation includes senior dentists Dr.Manoj Raina and Dr.Himja Mengi. Dr.Bhupinder Singh, Secretary IDA Jammu, while interacting with CM, raised the issue of unemployment of dental surgeons in J&K. He said that more than 400 new dentists are coming to our state every year but the government jobs for dental surgeons were filled by Public Service Commission in year 2008 and no fresh notification to fill the vacancies of dentists was issued after that. He also demanded a separate directorate of dental health on the pattern of Himachal Pradesh. He said that when a small state like Himachal has created a separate directorate exclusively for dental surgeons, then why not J&K establish a directorate of dental health. Dr.Gautam Sharma, Ex-President IDA, along with a delegation of senior dentists have already met Dy.CM Dr Nirmal Singh and Health Minister Dr.Bali Bhagar regarding these issues. Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, patiently heard the issues of dental surgeons and said that these genuine issues will be looked into and will be solved in days to come.
