CCC decides to meet at regular intervals to suggest measures for better performance of govt.
discuss various issues in recently reconstituted body

Jammu, November 22, (Scoop News)-The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has sought rotation of assembly segments for Scheduled Caste’s (SC’s) from its coalition partner during first meeting of the recently reconstituted Coalition Coordination Council (CCC) on Tuesday.

Both coalition partners vowed to implement all major issues of the Agenda in remaining period of about three years of the current term.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of deputy chief minister, Nirmal Singh and those who also participated in it included minister for parliamentary affairs, revenue and relief Abdul Rehman Veeri, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Sartaj Madni, Dilwar Mir, Trilok Singh Bajwa, Shamsher Singh and Dr Narinder Singh.

The CCC met after a gap of over two years and had threadbare deliberations on various matters pertaining to the smooth governance and other issues related to coalition partners for over two hours. The meeting also decided that they should meet after every one and half month to ensure more coordination between the alliance partners and recommend measures to further improve performance of the government.

The BJP representatives drew focused attention on the rotation of the reserved constituencies, increasing the quota of backward classes and solving the grievances of West Pakistan refugees and decided setting up of delimitation and Transparency Commissions.

Party sources said the representatives present in the meeting highlighted that assembly segments were reserved after a delimitation exercise was held in 1996. Being the State’s Constitutional obligation, to rotate these reserved segments, the BJP representative candidly said that even after the lapse of over two decades no such exercise was carried out till date.

The CCC also decided setting up of delimitation and Transparency Commissions. The CCC was of the opinion that there was a need to give push for talks after anti insurgency drive launched by the security forces was over. They assured that government would mobilize maximum stakeholders to come forward and hold talks with the Union Government’s sponsored Special Representative.

At present Ranbir Singh Pora, Ramban, Chenani, Chambh Domana, Hiranagar, and Samba assembly segments are reserved assembly constituencies. Incidentally, all seven segments were won by BJP in previous (2014) elections....
