Divisional administration fails to tender status report in apex court on illegal encroachment of temple and shrine properties in valley




Srinagar, December 5, (Scoop News)-The state administration has failed to put in the status report before the High Court regarding the action taken against the encroachment of temple and shrine land in Kashmir valley.

The next date of hearing has been fixed on December 26.

The case was listed for hearing on Monday. The divisional administration Kashmir was directed on previous date (on September 21) of hearing to submit a detailed status report within two months about the illegal encroachment of land attached to temples and shrines belonging to displaced Kashmiri Pandits.

They had earlier submitted a preliminary list of 27 temple and shrine properties to divisional administration that had been encroached upon across Kashmir valley

Over 3.5 lakh Kashmiri Pandits were uprooted from their moorings and forced to leave their homes and hearths following armed insurgency broke out in the state in 1990. ...
