| Noted Sanskrit scholar, Editor, Vijeshwar Jantri Dr Manmohan Shastri passes away | | 
Jammu, December 06, (Scoop News)- Noted Sanskrit scholar, astrologer and Editor, Vijeshwar Jantri Karyalaya, Dr Manmohan Shastri (Jyotshi) breathed his last today morning at his residence Goal Gujral.He had been ailing for some time.
He is survived by his wife Dulari Ji, two sons Puneet ji and Sumeet ji.
Dr Manmohan Shastri was an Ayurvedic doctor by profession and originally belonged to Bijbehara Kashmir. He was the son of late Shri Kashinath Shastri,a learned scholar and Shastri and founder member of Kashmiri Panchang ‘Vijyashwari Jantri.’
The last rites of Dr Manmohan Shastri were performed at Shanti Ghat,Gole Gujral in Jammu. His eldest son Punnit Jyotshi lit the pyre. Thousands of people from all walks of life particularly literary, social, cultural organizations, political leaders and his relatives were present at the cremation ground to pay their last homage to the departed soul. Earlier, the funeral procession started from Shastri’s residence.
Meanwhile various literary, social, cultural organizations and political leaders,particlaury Kashmiri Pandit commuinity condoled the Dr Manmohan Shastri’s death.

MLC G. L. Raina ( Ajey Bharti ) deeply condoles the sad demise of Dr Manmohan Shastri.
In a condolence massage Ajey Bharti said that it is really a sad and shocking to learn that the noted Sanskrit scholar, astrologer and a sane voice of reason Dr Manmohan Shastri (Jyotshi) is no more.
He said,”I got an opportunity to meet and interact with Dr. Manmohan Shastri ji very recently and he was his usual composed and elegant self taking less about himself and instead discuss community issues,”.
Ajey Bharti said that Dr Manmohan’s death, Jammu and Kashmir has lost a valuable asset which is very difficult to be replaced in near future. It is irreparable loss for the entire state.
He prayed to God to rest his sole in peace and also give courage to the family and well wishers of late Dr. Manmohan Shastri ji.
Zeashta Devi Prabandakh committee, zeathyar Srinagar mourns the sad and untimely demise of Dr. Manmohan jotshi, the learned astrologer.
in a condolence massage Shri Bharat Bushan said that the community has lost an asset and his departure has created a void which is difficult to fill.He said the committee prayed for moksha to his soul and courage to the beavered family to bear this irreparable loss.
Devesthan Prabandak committee,tehsil Bijbehara expressed deep shock on the death of Dr Manmohan ji. In a condolence massage Prof. M.L Malla said that it is great loss to our community . We have lost a pious soul of eminence in Shastras with qualities of humanity and brotherhood.
“Our heartfelt condolences to their family and give enough courage to them to bear such an irreparable loss. Let his soul rest in peace in heaven” he said.
It may be mentioned here that Dr Manmohan ji was also the chairman of Devesthan Prabandak committee,tehsil Bijbehara.
Brahman Maha Mandal expressed their deep condolences over the passing away of Manmohan Shastri ji. They said that in his death people of Kashmir have lost a great source of inspiration and the vacuum caused in his death shall hardly be filled for decades in future. They express condolences to bereaved family.
Minority Rights forum, Kashmir in an emergency meeting expressed its condolences on the sad demise of renowned Jotshi Sh. Manmohan Shastri.They said his demise is a great loss to the community.
