Unemployed youth feel frustrated, question silence by ruling alliance over biased selection of Junior Assistants

Jammu, December 7, (Scoop News)-Ruling Bharitya Janta Party (BJP) has come under sharp criticism from several quarters for maintaining eerie silence over subjecting candidates from Jammu and Ladakh regions to gross prejudice and cruelty in the recent selections for the post of junior assistants in the state government.
Last week Jammu and Kashmir Staff Selection Recruitment Board (JKSSRB) had released a selection list for the posts of junior assistant in General Administration Department (GAD) in which 27 out of 28 candidates were selected from Kashmir. Of these 27 candidates, 21 belonged to Chadoora tehsil of central district of Badgam alone.
Jammu and Kashmir National Panther’s Party (JKNPP), however, held a protest demonstration against the ruling coalition government over the ‘gross discrimination’ detrimental to Jammu region in the selection list issued by JKSSRB. Dozens of party activists led by its leader Hasrsh Dev Singh raised slogans against the coalition government and set ablaze an effigy of the saffron brigade for surrendering before the Kashmir centric leaders to remain in power.
Both PDP-BJP leaders evaded calls from the media on the issue. Some of the BJP leaders were, however, critical of their own party ministers for maintaining silence on the subject and urged the people to lodge a strong protest with the state administration.
Alleging step motherly treatment with the youth of Jammu, Virender Sethi, a businessman, said the leaders whom we voted to power have not spoken a word on the issue so far.
The educated youth of Jammu and Ladakh regions are being subjected to worst type of bias from the authorities, Balbir Singh said, an employed youth. “ We feel betrayed and our patience is running out,” he added.
