Bali winds up 3-day tour to hilly districts, inspects District Hospitals Ramban, Udhampur
Says Govt committed to upgrade health infrastructure in all institutions

Ramban, Udhampur, December 10, (Scoop News)-On the last leg of his 3-day tour to hilly districts, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today inspected District Hospitals, Ramban and Udhampur and reviewed their functioning.
While reviewing the functioning of District Hospital, Ramban, the Minister directed the doctors and para-medics to provide best possible services to the people of this hilly and backward district. He said the Government has been making all out efforts to upgrade the infrastructural and dignostic facilities in all health institutions, especially in the rural and far-off areas and its mandatory on the part of doctors and para-medics to deliver as per the aspirations of the locals. He said the Government is aware about the difficulties of the doctors and para-medics working in the far-off areas and efforts are afoot to improve the working conditions in the health institutions, said the Minister.
The Minister also inspected the newly constructed building of ANMT School and sought details regarding its functionalities. He was apprised that the building has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.50 crore and shortly being handed over to the department where the classes for ANMT students will start from there.
While addressing a meeting of district administration including health functionaries, the Minister informed that health infrastructure will be further upgraded in Ramban for which the Government has sanctioned Rs. 6.5 crore for new IPD block. In addition, an amount of Rs. 6.22 crore has also been earmarked for construction of doctors’ and para-medics residential quarters. The work on these two projects will start soon, said the Minister.
At Chanderkote, the Minister dedicated a Jan Aushadhi outlet under Prime Minister Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Scheme to the locals. While interacting with the locals, the Minister said that all essential medicines will be available from the Store on subsidized rates to patients. He called upon the people to take best advantage of the facility and purchase quality medicines from the outlet.
At Udhampur, Bali Bhagat paid surprise visit to District Hospital and took stock of the medicare and other related facilities available for the patients. He went round all wards and units and received detailed account of the activities. He also checked attendance and roster register and called for further streamlining the functioning. He directed the hospital management to provide best services to the patients and maintain proper sanitation in and around the hospital premises. He also interacted with the doctors and para-medics and listened to their problems.
He also directed the hospital administration to prepare a DPR for construction of a Conference Hall and a hospital canteen which are badly needed there.
The locals also met the Minister and briefed about the facilities available in the hospital. They demanded further up-gradation of diagnostic facilities and filling up of all vacant posts. He assured to look into all these demands on priority.
