Two security Bank guards killed in a terrorist attack in Shopian
3 LeT terrorists killed in Handwara encounter,CM condemns killing of Bank Guards

Srinagar, December 11, (Scoop News)-In an act of terrorism, two security guards of J&K Bank were killed by terrorists in Shopian’s Kral Check area.


Today at about 1500 hours, terrorists fired upon a J&K Bank Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK01M-4631which was on way from Keller to Pulwama at Puju Kral Check in the jurisdiction of Police Station Keller, Shopian. Two security guards of J&K Bank identified as Tariq Ahmad resident of Tumlehall Pulwama and Mushtaq Ahmad resident of Anantnag were injured in this attack.


Both the injured were shifted to District Hospital Pulwama for treatment where they succumbed to their injuries. The bodies of both the deceased were handed over to their next of kins for last rites.



In another incident Three LeT terrorists were killed in an encounter with police and security forces in Unisoo area of Handwara.
Acting on a specific input, Handwara police along with 22 RR and 92 Bn CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Mir Mohalla area of Unisoo in the jurisdiction of Police Station Handwara. During search operation, terrorists hiding in the house of Abdul Hamid Mir fired upon the joint search party. The fire was retaliated, ensuing an encounter. Three unidentified terrorists of LeT were killed in this encounter. The identity of these terrorists is being ascertained. Three AK rifles along with other ammunition was recovered from the encounter site.
During the encounter, one lady got injured in the cross firing and unfortunately she succumbed to her injuries.



Meanwhile Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has condemned the killing of two security guards accompanying a cash van at Kellar in Shopian district today.
In a statement, the Chief Minister described the incident as highly unfortunate in which the officials guarding the public money were killed.


Mehbooba Mufti has also grieved over the death of a woman during a search operation in Handwara today. She said she has been all along warning of the ill effects of violence and reiterated her appeal to civil society to rise to the occasion and make the future of our youngsters safe and peaceful.
