| Book on Curriculum Development in Teacher Education Innovative Practices released at JU | |
Jammu, December 13, (Scoop News)- Department of Education, University of Jammu organized Book Release function of its maiden collection of papers an edited volume on Curriculum Development in Teacher Education Innovative Practices. Prof Keshav Sharma Dean Academic Affairs was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Prof Mubarak Singh Coordinator UGC SAP DRS Level II gave a detailed account of the Department highlighting the different initiatives taken up by the Department under SAP. Department of Education started in 1973 and now it runs MA Education, M.Ed, M. Phil and Ph.D programs. It is the second largest Department in the University with strength of 200 students and 56 scholars. The Department has been organising regular Workshops on Research Methodology, Academic Writing, Plagiarism, Career Placement, Alumni Fest, Educational tours and excursions. Academicians from different leading institutions of the country NCERT, NUEPA, TISS Mumbai, MS Baroda University, Sweden University, JNU, Tanda Medical College HP, Lucknow University, Mizoram University and NCTE have visited the Department for Academic endeavours.
The Book released today has empirical researched papers and desk papers of scholars, faculty members and students across disciplines. This is an attempt to document the initiatives in Teacher Education with contextualised solutions and possibilities. Earlier, Dr Sushanta Panda welcomed everyone.
Prof Renu Nanda, Head of the Department and Deputy Coordinator UGC SAP DRS II gave an account of the contributions in the book which include papers of Ana Bali, Dr Rohnika Sharma, Dr SK Panda, Dr Niharika Panda, Vivek Sharma, Dr Kavita Suri, Maliha, Jyoti Sharma, Rashmi Manhas, Princy Sharma, Dr Vivek Sharma, Pallavi Sachdeva, Sheetal Sharma, Sheetal Thappa,Anuradha Rani, Rekha Rani, Rajesh Jalyal, Sudershan Kumar Pathania, Varsha Kapoor, Sita Anand, Dr Mamu Dwivedi,Kusha Sharma, Anu Salaria, Dr Jeevan Jyoti, Poonam Sharma, Asha Rani, Ashu Rajput, Divya Jyoti Oberoi, Nita Devi, Samandeep Kaur, Sushma Bala, Upasana Sharma and Meena Kumari.
The Chief Guest Prof Keshav Sharma congratulated the Department and faculty for their academic accomplishments. Appreciating the efforts of the Department Faculty, Prof Sharma expressed his gratitude to be part of the book Release function. Dr Kajal moved the vote of thanks.
The book was released in the presence of Prof Satnam Kour, DSW, Prof Darshana Sharma, Dean Faculty of Education, Prof Rajiv Rattan Sharma Sharma, Prof Dipankar Sen Gupta, Prof G M Bhat, Prof Bindra Thusu UCL, Dr Kavita Suri, Prof Rakesh Vaid, Dr Malay, Fr Thomas, Dr Raza, Mr Aman Sharma, Dr Shabana Azmi, Prof Arti Bakshi, Sita Anand, scholars, students and especially invited Principal Mrs Neelam, staff and students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Satwari.
