Bhim Singh condemns Delhi Police arrogance against JKNPP leaders

New Delhi, December 14, (Scoop News)-Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party & Sr. Advocate in a protest letter to Shri Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister strongly lodged a protest against the highly arrogant behaviour of Delhi Mandir Marg Police Station for arresting and detaining about 40 Panthers Party activists from Jammu and Kashmir including the Chairman-JKNPP, Shri Harsh Dev Singh and its General Secretary Shri Yashpaul Kundal both ex-ministers in J&K while JKNPP was peacefully protesting in front of BJP Headquarters, Ashoka Road this morning.
Prof.Bhim Singh learnt this while he was inside the Supreme Court in connection with a petition against J&K Govt. when he learnt about the arrest of the JKNPP activists.
Prof.Bhim Singh rushed to the Mandir Marg Police Station and when he reached there it was about 12.30 p.m. (today). He was surprised that the detainees (JKNPP) were kept without even water. The Mandir Marg Police Station, as was whispered to Prof.Bhim Singh when he reached there, was sounded to not to serve even tea or biscuits. Prof.Bhim Singh reached Mandir Marg Police Station and found that SHO Police Station was missing. There was no senior police officer. The Panthers Party activists were provided couple of broken chairs and many of them were standing for more than three hours. They were not even served drinking water. Somebody whispered to Prof.Bhim Singh, fighting BJP government you must have patience to starve and stand.
Prof.Bhim Singh tried to contact the Union Home Minister and Commissioner of Police, Delhi. The telephone he was using (9871565333) stopped to operate from Police Station.
Prof.Bhim Singh in a strong protest note to Shri Rajnath Singh demanded his immediate intervention to ensure that the senior Panthers Party leaders from Jammu and Kashmir, two of them former ministers in J&K, should be served at least drinking water. The Panthers Party could have purchased water or breakfast but no Panthers Party activists was allowed to go outside or bring tea/coffee/water from outside the police station.
Prof.Bhim Singh reminded Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi that such type of police harassment was not met with the political activists during the days of emergency in 1975/1976. He said that the Youth Congress workers used to go to the Police Station to deliver drinking water/tea to the detainees those days.
Prof.Bhim Singh demanded compensation to the Panthers Party activists for their illegal, unconstitutional and undesirable arrest and detention in the Police Station denying them their fundamental rights (they were entitled in Delhi, if not in J&K) at least to be detained with honour and dignity. Drinking water should not have been denied. Any way this is the real face of BJP governance in the country.
