| Press Club of Jammu organizes admission seminar for FTII, SRFTII | | Jammu gets examination centre for FTII Entrance in Feb 2018 | 
Jammu, January 16, (Scoop News)-Press Club of Jammu in collaboration with Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) Kolkata (both Institutions under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India) today organized the maiden admission seminar at Jammu.
Two representatives of the elite FTII Mr Pankaj Saxsena, senior faculty member, FTII Pune and
Mr Shubhashish Roy, Faculty Member, FTII, Pune participated and have an information session with a huge number of students from different schools, colleges and institutes of Jammu City.
The Seminar began with the welcome address by the PCJ president, Mr Ashwani Kumar and he detailed that how PCJ in collaboration with FTII has organized this maiden admission seminar in Jammu and how it will be fruitful in the coming years for the youth of Jammu, who are aspiring to be part of Bollywood in different means and want to adopt Film and Television world as a professional.
Director Information, Munir-Ul-Islam, while addressing the students and guest faculty members of FTII said and announced that scholarships will be given to the student of J&K, who get select for FTII courses for which entrance test is on Feb 18 and this is for the first time that Jammu is also among one of the examination centers. JET 2018 will be held on Sunday, 18th February 2018 in two sessions (forenoon & afternoon).
While elaborating the courses of the FTII and SRFTII, India's two most reputed centres of film and television education, Saxsena and Roy detailed about the different courses and also how to apply.
FTII Pune and SRFTI Kolkata both Institutions under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India have announced Joint Entrance Test (JET) for 2018 admissions. The all-India test will be on 18th February in 26 centres across the country which includes Jammu and Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir.
As this is the first time both institutes have come together for a common entrance test, FTII is conducting Admission Seminars in various locations across the country. Such seminars will generate awareness about JET, about the increased number of courses on offer and provide an opportunity to prospective candidates to seek clarifications from FTII representatives who will be addressing such seminars.
Between January 10-14, Admission Seminars have been held in Uttarakhand (Haldwani and Dehradun), Banasthali Vidyapeeth and Jaipur (Rajasthan),Somaiya Vidyavihar and Mumbai (Maharashtra.) Guwahati (Assam),Imphal (Manipur) and Bhubaneswar (Orissa).
"FTII aims to attract maximum participants to these Seminars so that a large number of prospective candidates from J&K get an opportunity to take the JET exams this year. This year FTII is making special efforts to increase entrance test enrolment in regions such as Jammu & Kashmir where the candidate turn out is traditionally low", said Bhupendra Kainthola announcing FTII's plans to reach out to states with low turnout in FTII- SRFTI entrance tests.
The faculty members said that candidates applying for admission to FTII and SRFTI need to go through a multi-stage selection process. The first stage in this selection process is an All India level written examination called as the Joint Entrance Test, 2018 (JET 2018).
JET 2018 is a written test of three hours duration consisting of objective type and subjective questions and will be conducted in 26 centers across India. Based on the JET 2018 score of the candidates, FTII and SRFTI will send call letters to the candidates for the Second stage of the selection process and thereafter, on successful accomplishment of all the requisites, finally admit students in their full time regular programmes for the academic year 2018.
While presenting vote of thanks, PCJ Secretary General Zorawar Singh Jamwal said that Jammu is having lot talent for acting and other TV and Film related fields, but there is a need to give a proper shape to this young talent and FTII is the best option for them.
PCJ Secretary Finance, Dinesh Manhotra, senior journalist, Sanjit Khajuria, Members Executive Committee, Ajay Bachloo, Vishal Bharti, Surjit Singh, Dinesh Mahajan, Nishkant Khajuria, Pawan Sharma and Deepak Khajuria also attended the seminar.
