10-days Special Ice Hockey Coaching Camp for differently abled children concluded at Leh

Leh, January 17, (Scoop News)-The concluding function of 10-days Special Ice Hockey Coaching Camp for the differently abled children of Leh district organized at New Police Complex Agling Leh witnessed an exciting Ice Hockey exhibition match between Canadian Embassy team and J&K Police team today. The Canadian Embassy team led by world renowned Ice-Hockey player, Hayley Wickenheiser who represented Canada at Winter Olympics for five times, capturing four Gold and one Silver medals enthralled the audience on the occasion. Later, an exhibition match was also played with physically challenged persons.
Organized for the first time in Leh by district police Leh in collaboration with Health Department and Health Inc, the winter camp was participated by large number of special children including students of PAGIR and children coming from far-off villages of district.
Dy. High Commissioner, Canadian High Commission, New Delhi Mr. Soyoung Park was chief guest on the occasion while as SSP, Leh Ms. Sargon Shukla was guest of honour on the occasion. Other prominent present on the occasion were ADC Leh, Moses Kunzang, ASP, Leh Stanzin Losal, CMO, Leh Dr. Motup, President Health Inc Gey Konchok Phanday, founder Health Inc Cynthia Hont and senior police officers.
Welcoming the Canadian High Commission team, SSP, Leh Ms. Sargon Shukla expressed great happiness to be a facilitator of this special camp and thanked everyone who contributed in successful conduct of the camp. She highly appreciated the tireless endeavour of Cynthia Hont and ASP, Leh Stanzin Losal who personally supervised the 10-days camp. She expressed her special thanks to CMO, Leh Dr. Motup for their support in conducting this camp for special persons.
SSP, Leh Sargon Shukla said that J&K Police is committed to promote sports among youths of state and engaging special persons in sports activities gives a unique experience to the district police Leh. She said that special persons are blessed with special abilities and skills, and stressed on creating a favourable environment for special children in the society. Later, the guests distributed trophies, mementos and certificates among the special children. The J&K Police Leh orchestra team also entertained audience on the occasion
