Army pay tribute to soldier killed in Pak shelling | | Jammu, January 20, (Scoop News)- The Army today bid farewell to Lance Naik Sam Abraham who was killed in ceasefire violation in Sunderbani sector of J&K.
A defence spokesman said a wreath laying ceremony was organized in honour of the brave heart Lance Naik Sam Abraham, who laid down his life guarding the Nation’s frontiers while serving at the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani sector (J&K). A military send-off was organized, wherein, GOC Crossed Swords Division among other military dignitaries, laid wreaths on behalf of Lt Gen D Anbu, Army Commander, Northern Command and Lt Gen Saranjeet Singh, GOC White Knight Corps. He said that Lance Naik Sam Abraham, aged 34 years, belonged to Village Poonakam, District Allepey, Kerala and is survived by his wife Smt Anu Mathew and daughter aged 1 year and 10 months. Lance Naik Sam Abraham was a dedicated, brave and sincere soldier and a thorough professional. The nation will remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty. He will continue to motivate the future generations. ... |
