LAHDC to have new CEC on Feb 19, BJP to elect its new leader






Leh(Ladakh), February 9, (Scoop News)-Elections to the office of Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) are likely to be held on February 19.



The post fell vacant due to sudden demise of Dr Sonam Dawa Lanpo on January.



Bharitya Janta Party (BJP) will be electing its new party leader in the Council. There are 29 Councillors in LAHDC at present with 19 members belonging to BJP including two nominated members. Indian National Congress (INC) party has five councliiors followed by National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) having two members each in the Council besides an Independent representative from Dikshit (Nubra).



Incidentally, PDP is represented by two nominated members in the council. ...
