Deputy Commissioner reviews the performance of Banks of Leh

Leh, February 16, (Scoop News)-The quarterly meeting of District Consultative Committee / District Level Review Committee Meeting of Bankers of Leh district for the quarter ended Sept. 2017 and Dec. 2017 was held today in DC Leh Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Leh Avny Lavasa. The meeting was attended by Manager Reserve Bank of India Sh. Satish and Manager NABARD B.B Mohanty and bank managers and representatives of all the banks operating in Leh headed by Incharge Lead Bank Manager R.S Sidhu, Chief Manager SBI, Leh and all the district officers of allied departments.
Chairing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, Leh Avny Lavasa impressed on all the banks and allied departments to ensure disbursement of all the loans cases by October ending of every financial year and reviewed the progress of all the Govt. sponsored schemes like, NRLM, PMEGP( KVIB), PMEGP (KVIC), PMEGP( DIC), KCC, ST/SC and performance under MUDRA Loans in detail. Observing very poor coordination among all the banks and allied departments in the district specially mismatching of records and data tabled in the meeting and confusion among stakeholders, DC, Leh directed all concerned to rectify their issues and problems timely cautioning that such irresponsible practice must not be repeated in next DLRC meetings.
As per the standard of Lead Bank, the DC Ratio of a district should be above 60% and to improve the CD Ratio of Leh district which presently stand at 31%, the meeting decided to constitute a special subcommittee to work on an action plan which will convene a meeting prior to DLRC meeting every quarterly. To ensure effective functioning of banks in Leh, the meeting strongly felt the need of three key posts needed to be filled up including RSETTI , LDM and Financial Councillor.
The DC, Leh also released the Potential Linked Credit Plan 2018-19 Book of NBARD for Leh district amidst the meeting. Keeping in line with the national policy of Skill Development Entrepreneurship, a separate chapter on “ Skill India Scheme” has been included, with an emphasis on promoting employability and productivity of the workforce in both the organized and unorganized sectors and in view of potential assessed under various developmental sectors, a total credit of Rs. 291.82 crore has been arrived at under priority sector in Leh district to be purveyed by banks during 2018-19.
Earlier, Lead Bank Manager while briefing the action point of previous meeting said that the achievements of credit to agriculture stands at Rs. 63.10 Crore as on 31st Sept 2017 as against Rs. 44..02 crores as on 30th Sept. 2017 indicating increase in growth of Rs. 19.08 Crores. As per deposits/ advances of all banks operating in the district as on 31st Dec 2017 stood at Rs.24610900 Crore indicating -1.58 % decrease in deposits. Total advance of all banks operating in the district stood at Rs. 7672000 Crore as on 31st Dec 2017 respectively. The C.D. Ratio of all banks operating in the district at the stood at 31.17 % indicating at increase of 6.38 %.
