| 'Join Indian army' drive held at youth centre Chhatral | | Jammu, February 17, (Scoop News)-Army conducted a lecture on “Employment Opportunities in Defence Services at Youth Centre, Chhatral to motivate youth of Poonch district to seek a career in Indian Armed Forces. The aim of the lecture was to spread awareness amongst the local youth regarding the career opportunities offered by the Army, Navy and Air Force.
Participants were informed about the requirements for selection in defense services like education qualification, physical standards to include height, weight, chest measurement, general health, the selection process to include Physical Fitness Tests, Medical Examination and Common Entrance Exams for various modes of entries was explained in detail. In order to motivate the youth the pay structure and facilities extended to a soldier and his family members were also emphasised upon. Participants were given leaflets containing information of various recruitments and rallies being conducted by different recruitment agencies in the region in the near future.
With the change in the socio-economic structure of the society in the present environment, unemployment is a prime concern. This initiative received desired social response and was widely appreciated.
