Khurshid Ganai releases book 'Quest of Life'
Jammu, February 18, (Scoop News)-'Quest of Life’, a biographical novel was released on Sunday by Chief Information Commissioner (CIC), Khurshid Ahmed Ganai at Cultural Academy.



The book was released in collaboration of J&K Academy of art culture and languages, Jammu under the banner of Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Jammu at K L Sehgal Hall.



Mr. Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, Chief Information Commissioner was the chief guest of the occasion. Dr. Arun Joshi, Resident Editor The Tribune, and Dr. Monica Suri, institute of dental sciences were the guests of honor. Dr Arvinder Singh Amn additional secretary J&k academy of art, culture and languages and secretary Kala Kendra society Jammu was presiding officer and Dr Baljeet Singh Raina, secretary Punjabi lekhak sabha conducted the event. Dr Monojit Singh, president Punjabi Lehkhak Sabha was also present on the occasion.



Prof Sharat Sharma and Dr. Garima Gupta presented the review of this biographical novel on the day of release infront of the dignitaries.



This novel titled 'quest of life' is a collaborative work of Dr Bhavneet Kaur, HOD department of Pediatric Dentistry, Institute of Dental Sciences Jammu who is a prolific writer and an already published author of two fiction novels in the past four years.



The co-author of this novel is Sh. Sumit Sharma who is a professional broadcaster working as a programme executive in All India Radio.



'Quest of Life' the biographical novel is an effort of the authors to bridge the past with the present times artistically revolving around story of a man, Dr Surinder Singh Soodan and his wife Dr Parveen kaur, who started their lives from the reserved hills, faced the gruesome horrors of migration and at present are working immensely on world peace and development.



Speaking on the occasion. Khurshid Ganai highlighted the contribution of Dr Soodan towards society. He said that book highlights several incidents which could inspire the present generation to end the environment of violence and conflict between people. He appreciated the authorities for bringing out biographical work.



Ganai said that while authors focus on biography of famous people but stories of common man are also very inspiring as they face lot of struggle and hardships to achieve success in life. “I congratulate the authors for coming up with such a book which is not only inspiring but also give glimpse of life journey of a father written by his daughter”, Ganai said.



Addressing the gathering guest of honour, Resident Editor, The Tribune, Arun Joshi said that book is a powerful narration of the a family and individuals who got uprooted from their native place during the partition but through their hard work and determination achieved much in life.



“No book can teach us what our parents can teach us in life. This book is a powerful description of a man who had contributed much to the society as a professional as well as a social worker which has been beautifully written by his daughter”, Joshi said.



Prof. Sharat Sharma, who read a paper about the novel said that the story is woven creatively in a unique narrative style so that it becomes a transformational journey for its readers unfurling to them the secrets of survival and strength of not just one man but of many others who represent a particular slice in time.



“It is emerging as a strong narration of a riveting story, this work seamlessly juxtaposes history of India with the biography, highlighting the need of the hour and sprinkling the words of wisdom throughout, promoting peace and prosperity in the society”, Prof. Sharma said.
