Football tournament organized by CRPF concluded
Jammu, February 22, (Scoop News)-A long Jammu-wide Football tournament organized by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) concluded today here at Mini Parade Ground, Jammu. The final match of the tournament was played between MHAC School Nagbani Jammu and Sangram Bhata Kishtwar in which MHAC School Nagbani emerged winner with 2-0 goals whereas Sangram Bhata has to content with runner up position. MHAC School team was awarded winner trophy and a cash prize of Rs.25,000/-whereas Sangram Bhata was given runner up trophy and a cash prize of Rs.20,000/-.Yatin Sharma of MHAC School, who scored 03 goals in two matches, was adjudged Best Scorer of the tournament. Sagar Singh and Rahul Sharma, both of MHAC School, were adjudged Best Player of the tournament and Best Goalkeeper respectively. G.R.Azad of Bhaderwah was awarded Fairplay award for his sportsman spirit during the tournament. The special players of J&K viz. Ajay Bhau and Rajan Singh were also honored by CRPF. MHAC School Nagbani was led by Nitin Jamwal and Sangram Bhata Kishtwar was led by Azhar Hussain.
Shri VSK Kaumudi, IPS Addl DG CRPF J&K Zone, who was the Chief Guest during the closing ceremony of the tournament, congratulated the winner team for its successful journey during the tournament. He also appreciated and congratulated all the players who participated in the tournament and all the support staff. He also appreciated the efforts and hard work done by CRPF personnel which bore fruit in the culmination of the tournament. Shri Kaumudi highlighted upon the objective of the tournament and reiterated that the energy and potential in the youth of J&K needs to be channelized in the right direction through these tournaments. On the occasion, he appealed the youth to engage itself in creative activities and contribute towards the building of sporting nation. He also stated that he is very happy to see the way CRPF has developed a unique synergy with other security forces and the State. He further said that the Force has always lived to its public friendly image while serving the nation. He also appreciated the role and support of civil administration, J&K Police and sports administration of the State.

Miss Aditi Chauhan also felicitated the event with her gracious presence as a special guest. It is pertinent to mention here that Miss Aditi Chauhan is the first Indian woman to play for West Ham United Ladies Football Club in the year 2015-16 and 2016-17. She had completed her Post Graduation from Loughborough University in United Kingdom. Besides, she played for Indian Football team as Goalkeeper in South Asian Games, 2016 and won Gold Medal for the country. She has also represented India as Goalkeeper of Senior Indian Women’s National team in Asian Games 2014 in South Korea. She was also a part of Senior Indian Women’s National team that won the 2012 South Asian Football Federation championship 2012 in Sri Lanka. She also represented India in U-19 AFC qualifiers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2008. She has made the nation proud in many other championships. The nation as a whole and CRPF in particular is proud of Miss Aditi Chauhan being the daughter of Shri Abhay Vir Chauhan IG CRPF Jammu Sector.

It is pertinent to mention here that Football tournaments for the youth were organized in six districts of Jammu region viz. Jammu, Ramban, Udhampur, Reasi, Doda and Kishtwar under Civic Action Program. In the first phase, matches were played amongst various teams of these districts and one winner team from each district was selected. In the second phase, the matches were played amongst these teams in Jammu, the final of which was played today here.

Among the others present during the event were Shri Abhay Vir Chauhan, IG CRPF Jammu Sector, Shri Pawan Kumar Sharma DIG CRPF O/o SDG CRPF J&K Zone, Shri SLC Khup DIG CRPF Range Hiranagar, Shri RK Bahuguna DIG CRPF O/o IG Jammu Sector, other officers & personnel of CRPF, officials of J&K Football Association, Football lovers of Jammu and various media personnel. The event was organized under the able guidance of Shri Surender Kumar Mehra Commandant 160 Bn CRPF.
