In a first, JK High Court adjudicates pending cases from Leh through video-conferencing

Leh,March 14, (Scoop News)-For the first time in Leh district hearing of pending cases from Leh with Jammu High Court Bench was conducted through video conferencing with the Jammu High Court today.




The cases were heard by Justice Tashi Rabstan, Judge High Court, Jammu. Principal District & Session Judge Leh Sunit Gupta and CJM Leh Dinesh Gupta were also present during the hearing. ADC, Leh and heads of various government departments participated in the hearing process and litigants were also heard by the High court judge.


This initiative has been taken with the aim to curtail the pending cases lying with high court and to reduce the obligation on part of respondent or petitioner on travelling and other expenses incurred to attend the hearing outside the district. There were 9 cases listed for today’s hearing and 4 cases were disposed off. In other cases government officers were given specific instructions to follow by next hearing in April, 2018.
