| Dalai Lama to present medals and degrees to meritorious students of CUJ during its maiden convocation ceremony | | 
Leh/Jammu, March 16, (Scoop News)-Top Tibetan spiritual guru, Dalai Lama, who has been invited to be the chief guest at the first ever convocation ceremony of Central University-Jammu (CUJ), will be presenting medals and certificates to meritorious students on Sunday.
Over 900 students who have completed their degrees till 2017 will be awarded certificates and medals in the maiden convocation at Zorawar Singh Auditorium by the Nobel Laureate.
About 43 University gold medals, two special medals of JK Bank, one each for male and female, 14 doctorate (PhD) degrees, 20 M Phil will be given away during the convocation ceremony. The PhD and M Phil toppers will be invited to the podium for receiving the medals and degrees from the spiritual guru.
Dalai Lama will also be delivering key convocation address. The other dignitaries present on the dais will the Governor NN Vohra and the chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti.
Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister Office (PMO), Dr Jitendra Singh and former Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), NC Vij, will also be conferred degrees Honnris Causa during the event. Singh will receive doctorate of philosophy in public policy and public administration and the former army chief in national security studies.
