MLA Bandipora reviews pace of progress
Bandipora, April 16, (Scoop News)-MLA Bandipora Usmaan Majid has urged upon the sectoral officers to make their field functionaries accountable so that better results could be yielded out of the developmental schemes.
The MLA was reviewing the pace of developmental works executed in Bandipora Constituency.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanai along with sectoral and district officers were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the MLA passed many directions to the officers for providing good governance to the people. He asked CMO Bandipora to strictly adhere by the rules regarding issuance of government supply medicines to the patients, adding that doctors should be convinced to prescribe the medicine preferably which are available in the hospital.
He also asked Forest Department officers to ensure afforestation at Kinshanganga project site. The MLA directed Rural Development and R&B Departments to ensure safety of the irrigation Khul Nadihal while doing any construction near the Khul.
Reviewing the departments, it was given out that 15 road projects have been completed in Bandipora Constituency at a cost of Rs 54 lakh by R&B Department.
The meeting was informed that the Agricultural Department has spent Rs 35 lakh under different Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).
Besides Under National Health Mission(NHM) Agriculture Department took many works at Arin Dardpora area.
It was also revealed that 65515 square feet timber has been put on sale by State Forest Corporation (SFC) to benefit 1610 families in Bandipora Constituency. 63300 saplings have been planted by Social Forestry Department covering 68 hactares of land at Chandaji, Kudara and Mantrigam, the MLA was informed.
It was given out that 41000 kgs of cocoon production has been recorded with an income of 90 lac rupees for 721 silkworm rearing families in the constituency.
Reviewing the Power Sector the MLA stressed for strictly adhering to curtailment schedule so that people do not face inconvenience.
