| Communal elements trying to commercialize,politicize the Kathua incident: Congress | |
Srinagar,April 23, (Scoop News)- Congress party will not allow any individual, group or party to politicize and communalise the recent gruesome rape and brutal murder of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua. Communal elements in any party who are trying to communalize or politicize the Kathua incident must be dealt sternly.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) senior leaders and legislators including MLA Sopore and party Vice President, Haji Rasheed Dar, MLA Bandipora, Usman Majeed, MLA Devsar Mohammad Amin Bhat and Vice President and MLC G N Monga issued joint statement to the press. The statement was issued after the four leaders held a meeting under the chairmanship of MLA Sopore Haji Rasheed Dar.
Statement said that the sinister agenda of communal forces is to tear apart social cohesiveness, communalise the situation, inflame passions and give anti-social elements a free hand to destroy properties and human lives. Congress party with the support of people of the country will thwart these nefarious attempts.
With assembly elections in some states round the corner and with an eye on next year’s Lok Sabha polls, the BJP is desperate to communalize the situation It is utterly shameful and disgusting that the BJP-RSS combine is trying to communalise inhuman Kathua incident for political gains.
We caution the people against designs of communal divisive forces and appeal them to maintain communal harmony at all costs. Congress is the only secular and unifying force not only in the state, but across the country which has always strengthened the secularism and it will continue to safeguard the secular fabric of the Country and state.
Over the decades, the Congress is the only party which has emerged a strong unifying and secular force in all three regions of the state and the party alone can better serve the interest of all sections of the society and lead the state on the path of peace, progress and prosperity. Congress under the dynamic leadership of Rahul Gandhiji and Smt Sonia Gandhiji have unshakeable belief in democracy, secularism and are committed to cause of downtrodden people.
