SSP District Shopian holds Darbar of Officers /Jawans

Srinagar, April 25, (Scoop News)-After assuming the charge of the office of Senior Superintendent of Police District Shopian on 24-04-2018, Dr. Shailendra Mishra-IPS, SSP hold a Darbar of Officers /Jawans posted in District Police Lines Shopian and Police Component Shopian on 25-04-2018 in the premises of District Police Office Shopian in order to listen and redress their grievances.
At the very outset, SSP Shopian welcomed the officers and Jawans present in the Darbar and asked the participants to put forth their grievances. SSP Shopian heard the grievances and problems being faced by the officers and Jawans patiently. He assured the officers and Jawans that their grievances and problems will be addressed at the earliest and passed necessary instructions on the spot.
In his speech SSP Shopian briefed the participants about the role and duties being performed by the J&K Police in fighting the militancy and maintenance of law & order situation. He also said that J&K Police is having the ability to face any challenge effectively and is considered as the best Police of the country having strong power to fight the terrorism. He complimented the Officers and Jawans for their excellent performance on anti-militancy as well as Law and order fronts and expected the Shopian Police will perform their duties with same spirit in future also. The SSP also briefed and stressed upon the following:-
a) Briefed the participants about the future challenges before the Police, their duties and responsibilities and the ways to tackle them. He also stressed them to follow the SOPs strictly.
b) Exercise maximum restraint while dealing with any law & order problems and ensure safety of the Civil and Govt property.
c) Expediting the mass contact efforts to strengthen the relations between Police and Public.
d) Restore public faith in Police machinery which is at present a major challenge for the J&K Police.
e) Emphasized upon the officers and Jawans to maintain strict discipline while performing their duties.
f) Give patient hearing to the people approaching them to redress their grievances. Also advised the participants to be polite with the people but firm on duties.
Assured the participants that only genuine Police personnel will be recommended for gallantry awards, out of promotions and other benefits.
Before concluding his speech, SSP Shopian thanked the officers/Jawans for their participation in the Darbar.
