Shrine Board, Dr. D.P. Shetty review Hospital functioning
Governor for providing highest standards of patient care

Jammu, April 26, (Scoop News)-: Governor N. N. Vohra, Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, held an extensive meeting with Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Founder and Chairman Narayana Health, to review the functioning of the tertiary care Superspeciality Hospital Kakryal. Governor and Dr. Shetty visited the Hospital on the occasion of the 2nd Anniversary of its establishment and discussed all outstanding issues regarding its growth.
The Review meeting was attended by Dr. S.S. Bloeria, and Sh. B. B. Vyas, both Members of the Shrine Board and of the Hospital’s Governing Body; Sh. Umang Narula, Chief Executive Officer of the Board, Dr. M. K. Kumar, Additional CEO of the Board; Cdr. Navneet Bali, Regional Director Narayana Hospital and Dr. (Brig) M. M. Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, SMVDNSH.
The meeting expressed satisfaction over the functioning of this 230-bedded Hospital, set up by the Shrine Board at an investment of over Rs 350 crore; and decided to further strengthen, expand and upgrade the diagnostic and treatment facilities at this Hospital to develop it as a centre of excellence in medical care. Considering the emerging requirements, Governor emphasised the need to increase the number of highly qualified doctors and other staff and, alongside, ensure that reputed Consultants provided specialised treatment.
Dr. Shetty assured the Governor that reputed Consultants from the various NH Hospitals will be regularly visiting the Super Specialty Hospital and for this purpose a comprehensive schedule of visits will be drawn and notified well in advance so that the maximum number of patients can benefit from their services.
Other matters which came up for discussion in the meeting included functioning of Jammu OPD run by SSH Kakryal, establishment of OPD-cum-Information Centre by NH at Srinagar, setting up the Hospital’s Day Care Facility at Jammu for the ease of patients located in the winter capital.
