Srinagar, May 16, (Scoop News)- Lawyer is not missing but has been detained in Sub Jail Baramulla under orders from a competent magistrate,Police said.
They said that a news item published in some newspapers purportedly on High Court Bar Association statement about so called missing of a lawyer.
Police in a statement clarified that said lawyer has been detained in Sub Jail Baramulla under orders from a competent magistrate.
They further clarified that mention of IGP office in the news item is incorrect. It would have been appreciated had the facts with police been taken on record involving the subject before placing the news item.
The subject in question was called to Police Station Kreeri Baramulla and was bound down by magistrate. Police has sufficient ground for this action keeping records and materials available with us. The family stands accordingly informed.
Police further requested before circulation of any such news item where public institutions in this case senior police office was mentioned, the facts in hand must be verified.Statement also requested the editor board to take appropriate measures in this connection.
