Dy CM, Sham, Jugal visit relief camps
Express solidarity with shelling hit families

Jammu, May 24, (Scoop News)-Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta today visited firing affected border villages of R. S. Pura, Suchetgarh and Arnia and took stock of the situation and inspected facilities made available for inmates at the make-shift relief camps.
Accompanied by Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Choudhary, Member Parliament Jugal Kishore, Legislators Ravinder Raina and GaganBhagat, the Dy CM took on the spot review of facilities made available at the shelter and relief camps established for border firing victims by the administration at Higher Secondary School R. S. Pura, ITI College R. S. Pura, Chakroi Panchayat GharJojawal and other places.
The Dy CM asked the concerned officers to make sure that these people do not suffer for want of necessary amenities. He gave instructions to the concerned agencies to ensure adequate supply of ration, LPG, electricity and other essential commodities to the affected people.
Kavinder Gupta, while interacting with the local people, enquired about the problems being faced by them in the wake of continuous shelling from across the border. The villagers apprised Dy CM of the need for construction of permanent bunkers. They also demanded for making provision for one room flat at safer places and timely disbursement of compensation to NoK of those killed in cross border firing, etc.
Kavinder, Sham and Jugal Kishore assured the people living in the relief camps that it is the prime concern of the Government to provide every facility to them. They also informed that the Centre Government has already enhanced compensation for Next of the Kin of those killed in border firing from Rs 1 lakh to 5 lakh.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu Hemant Kumar Sharma, IGP Jammu Zone S. D. Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, Superintending Engineer PDD, SDM R.S. Pura, Tehsildar R.S. Pura, besides senior functionaries of various department accompanied the Deputy CM.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister also attended the last rites of a man who died in cross border firing yesterday. He also conveyed his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, the Dy CM convened meeting at SDM Office R. S. Pura with civil and police administration and had detailed information regarding the measures being put in place to provide necessary help to the affected people.
Kavinder directed the concerned officers to remain available in the camps to redress the problems of the people and ensure provision of all basic amenities so that inmates don’t face any inconvenience on this account.
Deputy Chief Minister also directed the health authorities to provide adequate health care facilities besides asking the concerned to provide mobile health unit for livestock as well.
