Rana demands CBI probe into Ammunition Depot recruitments; 50 p c reservation for locals

Jandrah, May 26, (Scoop News)- MLA Nagrota and National Conference Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana on Saturday sought CBI probe into recent recruitments in 15 Field Ammunition Depot at Kanyala and reiterated his demand for 50 per cent reservation for the locals.
Joining the people in sit-in-dharna at Domail-Kishenpur Road, against unfair and unjust recruitment of non-locals and non state subjects for the posts of unskilled labourers, Mr Rana expressed deep shock and anguish over unfair means allowed during the screening test to have outsiders recruited in the depot.
“Just two locals are figuring in the list of 200 selectees, who are all from outside the State”, Mr Rana said, adding that this is not for the first time when such a bungling has been made. A well organized nexus is at work, which is allowing unfair practices and even impersonation to have blue eyed in place, reportedly in lieu of consideration. This entire nexus is needed to be broken, perpetrators identified and the list of selectees cancelled, he said and added that this can be done by holding an impartial enquiry by the CBI.
Mr Rana sought fresh screening test with at least 50 per cent reservation for the locals, who he termed were the real stakeholders for having parted their lands for establishment of Ammonization Depot years ago. He said the owners of the land were being provided with rent after years and as if it was not enough their young boys are deprived of opportunities of jobs as well.
Mr Rana took serious note of the reports about unfair means including copying and use of blue-tooth ear phones by the candidates from outside the State, saying this has marred the chances of locals. He said all this is being done in a systematic and calculated manner to have favoured candidates selected.
The MLA Nagrota expressed complete solidarity with the agitated youth, who joined the protest dharna and said the manipulation in recruitment is no secret as the police had taken cognizance to this sinister nexus by registering FIR over malpractices committed during the unscrupulous elements in the course of recruitment process two and half years ago. He said insiders were brazenly doing injustice with the locals that have caused immense resentment in the entire constituency.
Mr Rana said that he had taken up this issue with the former Defence Minister Mr Manohar Parikar, bringing to his notice unabated malpractices in the recruitment process. He said on 29th September 2016, 28 persons were found impersonating during screening test for the post of Labour Clerks and Firemen in this Depot. Accordingly Police had registered FIR as well. He said Mr Parikar had favourably responded but it seems the perpetrators continue to remain unmoved, which is evident from the unfair means allowed today also during the screening test.
The MLA Nagrota reiterated his demand for preference to the local youth in the junior category of posts in the Ammunition Depot. “There has to be end to all this in order to generate confidence among local youth about fairness of the process and priority to them”, he added.
Prominent among those sitting in the dharna included Prashant Khajuria, Mohan Lal Mengi, Karan Dutt, Kishori Lal Sharma, Mohan Singh, Angrez Singh, Mohammed Gafoor, Lal Chand, Raghubir Singh, Amjad Mughal, Mohammed Sadiq, Bishen Dass, Sanjay and Gushu Sharma.
