| One person killed in Grenade explosion in Anantnag | |
Srinagar, June 16, (Scoop News)- One person was killed in Grenade explosion at Brakpora in Anantnag.
Police said that as reported by certain sections of media that one person died in clashes with security forces at Anantnag is refuted .
They said that Preliminary investigation reveals that a hand grenade exploded resulting in the death of one Sheraz Ahmad son of Gh Mohiuddin resident of Brakpora due to splinter injuries and his right hand got fully damaged .Further details are being ascertained.
In another incident one person sustained injuries in the clashes in Safakadal area of the city soon after the prayers, a police official said.
Clashes between protestors and law enforcing agencies were reported from Sopore and Kupwara areas in north Kashmir, the official said, adding the situation in other parts of the Valley was peaceful so far.
