'Peaceful struggle against forcible control will continue on all fronts': Mirwaiz


Srinagar, June 16, (Scoop News)-Eid ul Fitr was celebrated across the sub continent including Kashmir with great religious fervour and gaiety. Largest Eid gathering was held at Eidgah in Srinagar where APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressed Eid gathering after a gap of eight years as he wasn't allowed by the authorities in the past.

During his address, Mirwaiz said while as people across the sub continent are celebrating Eid, Kashmir's separatist leadership wants to convey to the Centre that it must stop the policy of repression, that includes alleged killings, and harassment in Kashmir.

He said Kashmir is a political and humanitarian issue and dealing with this issue with the military might can't yield any result neither can it force the people of Kashmir or the leadership into a submission.

APHC leader said it is must to revoke all black laws and to release the prisoners so that a conducive atmosphere is created on ground for the resolution of vexed dispute where in all three parties, India, Pakistan and the people of Kashmir are involved in a process of engagement.

Mirwaiz said he is conveying the message of peace and prosperity to both Delhi and Islamabad on this Eid as people of Kashmir urge them them to take concrete steps towards the resolution of Kashmir dispute.

Amid pro freedom and pro martyrs slogans, Mirwaiz said the peaceful struggle against the forcible control will continue on all fronts.



Meanwhile, separatist troika comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwiaz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has condemned the killing of two youth in South Kashmir within a span of just 24 hours.

The leadership said that the forces without showing any respect for Eid allegedly killed a youth in Anantnag just a day after killing of another boy by the army at Pulwama.

In a statement issued here, the separatist troika said that forces have started operations against the of Kashmiri youth after a break of one month.

The leadership while condemning the killings urged people to offer funeral in absentia for the slain youth after Asar prayers across Kashmir and to register their protest against the alleged killings.
