Rajouri admin finalises convergence plan
Rajouri, July 11, (Scoop News)-District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz today finalised the convergence plan for 2018-19 setting a target to construct 1200 rainwater harvesting tanks across the district.
Chairing a meeting, the DC directed the concerned departments to prepare detailed project reports for implementation of convergence plan under MGNREGA.
The meeting was informed that 60 percent share under labour component of MGNREGA will be utilised in convergence with different departments for creation of durable results and maximising utilisation of funds for public benefit.
Soil Conservation, Forest and Social Forestry Departments will provide plant saplings whereas labour part will be contributed by RDD, while Agriculture, IWMP, DRDA and PHE will dovetail their District Plan with labour component of MGNREGA for constructing water harvesting tanks, check dams etc for conservation of rainwater. It was decided that 1200 tanks will be constructed in the District for harvesting rain water in rural areas at a cost of Rs 7.20 Cr. The ExEn PHE Division Rajouri and Nowshera were directed to submit type design and locations of the tanks within five days.
It was further decided to complete 109 Panchayat ghars, 19 Village haats and 19 Anganwari centres under the convergence plan.
Executive engineer Irrigation informed that the department will take up restoration of small canals and Flood protections works this year involving 60 percent labour component.
Meanwhile, DYSSO and DFO Territorial were also directed to submit action plan under convergence mode immediately.
The DFO Rajouri was directed to identify suitable forest land in vicinity of town for establishing city forest/forest Street.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to ensure timely execution of works reflected in convergence plan and its proper implementation at ground level for creation of durable assets and providing wage days to the rural work force at their doorsteps.
The meeting was attended by ACD Akhtar Hussain Qazi, CEO RDA Dr Tahir Firdous, CPO A H Choudhary, ExEn PHE Nisar Khan, ExEn I & FC Sunil Koul, DFO Rajouri, DFO Nowshera, DFO Social Forestry and other district officers.
