Srinagar, July 16, (Scoop News)-One policeman was killed while another got injured in a militant attack on a National Conference leader in Pulwama district.
Polic said that militants in the afternoon hours today fired indiscriminately at the Policemen in Muran village at District Pulwama who were accompanying ex-MLA Rajpora Shri Ghulam Mohiudin.
The Protected person is safe and secure however one of his PSOs Mudasir who was from district Police has attained martyrdom while the other PSO Nasir from security wing is stable.
Apparently Terrorists after the firing incident have snatched the weapons of the policemen.
Police has registered the case and investigation into the instant matter has been initiated. Based on the initial probe it is learnt that Zahoor Thokar group of proscribed HM terror outfit is involved in it.
Meanwhile One terrorist killed, two Army personnel have been injured during an ongoing encounter in Kupwara’s Safawali Gal along the Line of Control.
one AK-47 rifle has been recovered from the terrorist.
A joint search party of 10 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI), 57 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 41 RR challenged the movement of a group of infiltrators during pre-dawn hours on Monday resulting in a gunfight.
