Hiranagar (Kathua), July 17, (Scoop News)-Regretting that incumbent BJP leadership in J&K had wasted historical mandate of the people of Jammu for the lust of power, senior Congress leader and Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), Thakur Balbir Singh today said that elected representatives of the Saffron Party would be remembered in the history of J&K as ‘Jai-Chands” of Jammu.
Addressing a function at Hiranagar in connection with the 103rd birthday of late Congress leader Girdhari Lal Dogra, who served the state as Finance Minister for more than a decade, Thakur Balbir Singh said that Dogra Sahib had set an example of a great leader and the real representative of the people. “BJP leaders should learn from political stalwart like Girdhari Lal Dogra who had selflessly served the people and dedicated his life for the socio-economic growth of people of this region”, Singh recalled while paying his tributes to late Dogra.
He, however, regretted that BJP leaders, who whom people of Jammu had voted with emotions and sentiments, had betrayedm backstabbed and ditched their own voters and supporters just for their petty personal gains. “It is first time in the political history of J&K that BJP had got historic mandate of the people of Jammu region but unfortunate that mandate was wasted by the power hungry leaders”, Singh regretted and added that except legalizing corruption, swindling developmental funds and flourishing transfer industry BJP leadership has nothing to highlight as achievement in three and half year in the government.
“Coming generation would never forgive BJP leadership for bartering wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu region to remain in the power and to settle their own family members at the cost of deserving youth of this region”, he said and exhorted to the people BJP a lesson in the coming Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Panachayat elections for its treachery.
Lambasting BJP, Thakur Balbir Singh said that this party has betrayed people of Jammu region as nothing has been done to solve their day today problems. BJP has failed on all fronts to provide an honest, accountable, efficient and clean administration in the State. He said that residents of Kathua had voted over-whelmingly in favour of BJP in the 2014 Parliament and Assembly elections but the Saffron Party has failed to come up to the expectations of the people, who are even struggling to get basic amenities.
Jagdish Dogra, former MLA Hiranagar Girdhari Lal Chalotra, block presidents of Hiranagar and Kathua and other senior leaders addressed the function.
