CEC convenes meeting of ECs, Councilors and Engineers of PHE

Leh, July 18, (Scoop News)-Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Dorjey Motup convened meeting of ECs, Councilors and Engineers of PHE headed by SE. PWD and Ex-en PHE in his office chamber today to chalk out permanent and temporary solutions to address water shortage issue and ensure safe drinking water facility in urban and rural areas of Leh district.

The meeting was attended by Executive Councilor for Health Gyal Wangyal, Executive Councilor for Tourism Tsering Sandup, Councilor Upper Leh Gen Nyantak, Councilor Skurbuchan Punchok Stanzin, Councilor Phyang Punchok Dorjey, Councilor Igoo Tsering Paldan and Councilor Tangtse Tashi Namgyal.

The meeting deliberated on all the issues and problems regarding proper functioning of water supply schemes in the district. CEC directed engineers to pace the ongoing schemes and ensure availability of drinking water to the public and especially in schools.

CEC inspected Choglamsar-Hemis road being executed under CRF at an estimated cost of Rs. 19 crores to review its work progress. He also accessed the work progress of approach RCC bridge to Shashi bridge in Shey. He instructed the engineers to pace up the work of road and bridge construction and put all their efforts in completing in on time.

Dorjey Motup accompanied by EC Sports, Gyal Wangyal and engineers inspected open stadium with youth hostel near Spituk (estd. cost 22 crores) and indoor stadium opposite Council Secretariat (estd. cost 8 crores) yesterday. He gave strict instructions to the engineers and contractors to speed up their work and complete it at the earliest possible to utilize its benefit by school students and youth in exploring and shaping their sporting talents.
