Dorjey Motup urges engineers to ensure quality of work and timely completion

Leh(Ladakh), July 19, (Scoop News)-The Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC Leh Dorjey Motup urged upon the Engineers to ensure quality of all the development works and said that Council would not compromise on the standard of work at all cost. CEC was instructing to the Engineers while inspecting the ongoing Blacktopping (BT) work this morning at Charu Palace- Gangless road which is coming up under UIDSSMT. On this occasion, the Upper Leh Councilor Gelong Lobzang Nyantak, SE, PWD,S K Pandita, Executive Engineer, R&B, experts of WAPCOS Ltd. and other engineers were present.
Dorjey Motup said that UIDSSMT is a prestigious scheme for Leh district where under many important developmental components like roads, water supply schemes, sewerage and drainages, solid waste management projects are being executed and among them, up-gradation and BT for Dibi-tu to Sankar-Lamdon junction, BSNL to Old road and parking of Cooperative Super Market are already completed and BT of Karzoo road is all set to start today. He said that Council’s main focus would be to complete all these works within a timeframe keeping in mind short working period in Ladakh and as such, CEC emphasized upon the executing agencies to put every efforts to complete the works in time leaving no room for un-necessary delay.
Gelong Lobzang Nyantak on this occasion, extended gratitude to CEC for ensuring timely blacktopping of this road which is one of the important approach road for the area and strongly urged for quality of work by creating passing space at key points of the road. Gelong also pointed out a number of works of his constituency and urged for timely completion keeping in view the larger public interest.
It is pertinent to mention that LAHDC has engaged a reputed company namely WAPCOS Ltd. as consultant for UIDSSMT project and their experts besides monitoring over the quality of works, also looking after the criterion as well as quality of works ranging from class of materials and other technical works.
In the afternoon, CEC also inspected the improvement and up-gradation of 2-lane Skalzangling-Agling road where the BT work has began today. Rs: 19.74 crore this project which also include Spituk- Choglamsar road having a total length of 11.84 kms is coming up under Central Road Fund and is expected to complete by the end of this working season with BT. This project is being executed by Construction Division.
Here again, Dorjey Motup reiterated LAHDC’s motive of quality with timely completion of works.
To check the quality of work, the District Quality Control Committee comprised of experts and officers also present on the site to monitor over the work. Councilor Phyang, Phuntsog Dorjey, SE PWD, Engineers of Construction division were also present on the occasion.
