DC Rajouri listens to public issues, takes stock of dev needs at Darhal
Rajouri, July 19, (Scoop News)- District Development Commissioner Aijaz Asad, with a team of district officers, listened to public grievances, issues and demands related to development and service delivery at a public outreach camp held today here at Darhal.
ACR A Q Mir, ACD Akhtar Hussain Qazi, CEO RDA Dr Tahir Firdous, CPO A H Choudhary, ExEn PWD Mushtaq Raina, ExEn PHE Nisar Khan, ExEn PMGSY Zubair Choudhary, ExEn I & FC Sunil Koul, ExEn PDD Munshi Khan, AD FCS & CA Javaid Iqbal, DSWO Naseeb Ahmad among other district and sectoral officers were present. They responded to issues raised by the locals and informed the public about progress on development projects.
A large gathering comprising of civil society members, sports persons and social activists from Darhal, Chowkian, Madoon, Dodaj, Nadian, Budhkhanari, Kotrah, Jabrian Sabzian and dozens of other villages turned up at the camp.
Demands ranging from upgradation of roads, creation of tourism and sports infrastructure, augmentation of power and water supply system, adequate staff in education and health institutions to completion of lingering projects, adequate funding for completion of tehsil office complex and community hall besides upgradation of Dak Bungalow were projected by the public.
The decision for upgradation of Dak Bungalow and construction of a Sanitary Complex in Darhal Town was taken on the spot. The DDC directed for identification of land for a Library as well. Directions were given for earliest completion of upgradation of Rajouri-Darhal, Darhal-Prori, Darhal-Thanmang, Darhal-Chowkian and others roads for benefiting the people of the vast area. Concerned officers were impressed upon to resolve issues of public importance on priority.
The DDC asked for mapping the water deficient areas for pushing in tanker services besides providing potable drinking water to hamlets through hand pumps.
Meanwhile, the department was asked to expedite completion of water supply schemes Naban and Nadian to meet out water demand.
The DDC assured the public that all areas of district are getting equal attention of administration as far as development is concerned. He said, “Infrastructure for promotion of tourism and sports culture will be developed in each area”, adding that some projects like Shakkar Marg have already been taken up for execution.
The DDC said that the roads, being the key for development, will be completed on priority. He assured the blacklisting of such contractors who have left the projects incomplete.
