| Five militants killed inside Ladoora Forest of Sopore | | one jawan injured | 
Srinagar, August 09 (Scoop News)- Five militants were killed inside Ladoora Forest of Sopore in Baramulla district.
Police spokesman said that security forces in Dooniwari/Ladoora forests in Dangiwachi area at Sopore had jointly launched searches based on credible leads about the presence of terrorists inside the forest area.
He said that while the searches inside the forest area at Dooniwari/Ladoora were going on, terrorist fired indiscriminately on the security forces. The fire was retaliated by the security forces leading to an encounter. In the initial burst of fire, one security force jawan sustained injuries and was evacuated to the hospital for medical attention.
In the ensuing encounter, five terrorists were eliminated by the security forces,spokesman said.
He said that huge cache of arms & ammunition and other incriminating material has also been recovered from the site of encounter. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the killed terrorists were affiliated with the proscribed terror outfit LeT and their identity is being ascertained. Police has registered a case and investigation has been initiated in the instant matter.
