FCS&CA Department suspends three FPS Licenses during Special Eid-ul-Azha Checking Drive
Jammu,August 18 (Scoop News)-In a special drive for upcoming Eid-ul-Azha Festival, Director Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Jammu Amit Sharma directed a Special Surprise Drive along with team of officers from the Directorate, comprising of Deputy Director Supplies Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Deputy Director Food & Rationing Kulraj Singh, Assistant Director Enforcement/Member Vigilance Monitoring Committee Mukhter Ahmed, Assistant Director City Circle-I Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi and Inspectors Raman Kumar, Yogesh Kumar, Pritpal Singh and Puneet Sharma.
As per the directions, a special surprise Inspection squad in view of the ensuing Eid festivities, comprising of these officers was constituted who conducted random Surprise Checks in Fair Price Shops (FPS) falling under the jurisdiction of City Circle-I and found lot of irregularities in the distribution of foodgrain and non-maintenance of books of records. As a consequence, three FPS dealers, namely Naresh Kumar, FPS Dealer-Paloura Depot No.227, Mansa Ram, FPS Dealer-Paloura Depot No.182 and Dharnter Singh, FPS Dealer-Paloura Depot No.370 were placed under suspension with immediate effect.
In view of upcoming festival season, Director FCS&CA Amit Sharma directed his officers to immediate transfer the Ration Distribution of Suspended Dealers to nearest available Dealers so that public faces no inconvenience in lifting monthly ration as per allotted quotas till their cases are settled. Moreover, he directed FCS&CA teams and squads to conduct more such surprise drives in near future so that the Ration supplies meant for BPL, PHH and bona-fide rationees reach to deserving persons in far flung areas of Jammu Division and all ten Assistant Directors of Jammu need to ensure same in letter and spirit.
It is pertinent to mention here that that a large number of complaints regarding irregularities in distribution of foodgrains were being regularly received from this area and in future, more such special drives shall be launched to ensure free fair and equitable distribution of Ration in all districts of Jammu Division.
Director Amit Sharma complimented his team for conducting a fair drive against wrong-doers and at the same, he has issued an advisory to all erring Dealers that all the Dealers of Jammu Division to refrain from malpractices and exercise utmost honesty in distribution of ration amongst the deserving beneficiaries otherwise they would face more stern action for doing so in future.
