Governor’s Grievance Cell refutes news item

Srinagar, August 21 (Scoop News)- Governor’s Grievance Cell (JKGGC) today strongly refuted a news item which appeared in an English daily recently about the disposal of complaints terming it far from truth and unconvincing.
“At the outset, there is no mention of the satisfactory disposal of more than 3000 complaints. Only some complaints which have been returned due to legal and other issues are highlighted to present a negative picture about the functioning of Grievance Cell,” JKGGC Director said in a statement.
He said the final disposal from departments in some complaint cases is constrained on account of standing orders of courts or involvement of huge financial implications beyond the approved Budgeted Plans, etc.
“Additional facility of response by the complainant to the initial report of the Department has been created as a citizen-friendly step to have first-hand feedback from the citizens on the quality of disposal by the Government Departments. Such a feature was earlier not available on the erstwhile web application system of the Cell,” he said.
The JKGGC Director said in the case of a complaint number 999000901452; the facts have not been verified by the newspaper or its reporter from the Grievance Cell. “It is clarified that JKBD has tweeted the non-forwarding of the aforesaid complaint on 8 August 2018 whereas the complaint had already been forwarded to Director Local Bodies Jammu on 02.08.2018 and stands replied with respect to the content of the grievance on 11.08.2018,” he said.
In the case of Umesh Manhas the complaint has been disposed off. The only complaint which is pending for disposal is with respect to Arun Sharma’s complaint (wrongly mentioned as Aiam Arun in the article). However, this complaint is in the process of redressal and stands taken up by Director Health Services, Jammu with CMO, Kathua,” he said.
