Mirwaiz extends Eid Ul Azah greetings to entire Muslim Ummah including people of JK
highlights significance behind sacrificing animals

Srinagar, August 21, (Scoop News)-Mutahida Majlise Ulema (MMU) patron and All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, extended his warm greetings to the entire Muslim Ummah including the people of Jammu and Kashmir, on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul Azha.


In a statement issued here, Mirwaiz in his Eid message said the occasion of Eid ul Azah has a significance as there is a great history behind sacrificing animals as the act reminds the people of the courage and patience shown by the Prophet Ibraheem and Ismaeel.

He alleged in J&K, Eid ul Azha has come at a time when there is an all out assault our identity and citizenship rights as anti Kashmir forces are trying their level best to change the majority character and disputed nature of the State.

APHC leader said people of J&K irrespective of cast creed, region must take a pledge to protect State Subject Law and to remain rock solid to foil all bids aimed at changing the demography of the State. On this auspicious occasion, people of state must vow to take the ongoing freedom struggle toward.

Mirwaiz urged all sections of society to refrain from extravaganza and to observe Eid with austerity. He appealed well to do people to help poor and destitute and also the victims of Delhi’s aggression in Kashmir so that they too can celebrate Eid.

MMU patron also hailed the courage and resilience of Kashmiri political prisoners who are languishing in various jails in and outside the State.


Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed his grief over the death of 18 people in two separate road accidents in Kishtwar in last two days and termed the deaths as very unfortunate.
In a statement issued here, Mirwaiz said that almost every day, people die in road accidents and landslides in J&K and it is the responsibility of concerned authorities to plug the loopholes to bring down the number of accidents that are taking serious toll on human life.

He expressed solidarity with families of those whose dear ones died in the road accidents at Kishtwar and prayed for the speedy recovery of injured.



Meanwhile, separatist troika comprising Syed Ali Geelani,Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik urged Imams and Khateebs across Jammu and Kashmir to make people aware about the designs of Indian state in tinkering with the State Subject Law and take people’s commitment to protest and resist this move at all cost in their Eid sermons.

The Leadership also urged Imams to ask people to raise their voice with full force against the assault on state subject laws and the continuous detention of hundreds of political prisoners after congregational Eid ul Azha prayers across Kashmir.

The Leadership expressed its serious concern over the plight of Kashmiri political prisoners languishing in Indian jails for years and those booked by ED and NIA and lodged in solitary confinement and kept away from the basic medical facilities posing a huge threat to their lives.They said people and leadership express their solitary and support to them

The Leadership said that on one hand GOI is employing ploys to change the Muslim majority character of the State by trying to roll back state subject law and hence undermine its disputed nature ,while on the other hand, notices and sumons are being sent to resistance leadership to push them into submission.

Leadership also asked Ulema and Imams of masjids and shrines of Kashmir to play their role in highlighting the sacrifices offered by the people of Kashmir and the oppression unleashed on Kashmiris and convey to the world community the dire need of their intervention to stop the ongoing repression in Kashmir and resolve the dispute.
